Jaymin Eve: Supernatural Academy Supernatural Academy #1

Th a cliche kid knapping as a plot device to get the heroine where she s supposed to go Then it gets ven cliche with the heroine just getting over being kid knapped and accepting it all in under an hourThis is set in the Supernatural Prison world and but it is not at all up to par with that series There is a lack of character building and worldbuilding throughout This is a sad disappointment 35 stars Don t have partially strong feelings about this one way or another It was uite middle of the road My first impressions were Jaymin you re such a bitch for not making this RH when you introduce 5 guys at the same time who give me Abcurse Deja Vu it s pretty cruel to then make it a normal MF romance But once I realised this is branch of the supernatural prison series then it makes much sense for this to be in the same vein There s some character crossovers which was cool and I m familiar with the world alreadyMaddie the FMC is uite uickly whisked off to supernatural academy where she finds somewhere to belong for the first time in her life yada yada rises form the ashes of an abusive background Prohibido nacer etcc orphanunidentified powers Serafina and the Seven Stars emerging blah blah fill in the blanks because you ve read this before She meets her lifelong friends within the first 5 minutes Drawn to the 5 most beautiful powerful men in those same five minutes while also catching the attention of all the school bitches I could not do a review without that gif read it to find out why She s a snowflake with an attitudeShe s likeable but alsonotPowerful but also not Romance but also not So I m finding this hard to review as you can tellBut it wasn t all bad It wasntertaining without knocking my socks off There was some unusual supes and that at least something It was lengthy so not rushed which was nice If you like Jaymin s other series then I d take the odds that you will like this too Am I xited for the next Pages 405My rating stars 4Read other books from this author in the future yesMC Maddie Asherother Characters Ilia Larissa Axl Jesse Rone CalenSupernatural Academy is part of the Supernatural Prison World I liked this about the story and we get to meet Louis again But until now he is the only one of the other series we meetview spoiler Maddi is raised as a human On her 22nd birthday she was found by a supe She was told that she has powers but those are locked down And she is taken to the Supernatural Academy There they try to get rid of her block but when they succeed they found out that her powers are great and have to be blocked again to keep her save Turns out that some supes crossed to Atlantis and because of some trouble Atlantis wa I really njoyed reading this book i didn t want it it What She Saw (Conard County end tho I liked the mc personality she was fun says what she s thinking at the moment blunt and kind I liked the atlantea guysspecially Asher ofc i know it s not a RH but i wanted it to be I thought Kate would be feisty bitchy and nasty she didn t show up and cause so much chaos as i thought she would I asume she will appear in the next book 2 25 Stars I think I m being generous with my rating because this book really got on my nerves However I did manage to finish it in two days so the story interested me Rivals Break (Sharpe Donovan enough to give it a couple of stars It had so much potential to be a great book Atlantis storyline academy setting five hot supernatural guysven if it s not RH mean girl subplot and my favoritean all powerful badass special About their abilities and how to function in the human world Maddison already has the human part down but this supernatural thing is an ntirely new dangerous gameExample one mean girls who can actually turn you into a frogExample two Asher Lock a god at the Academy Not literally well who knows for sure He certainly acts the part as do all of his minions who wor.

Ary Sue I know many readers hate these girls but I read to scape and prefer fantasy over reality Unfortunately it didn t deliver There just wasn t Soft Focus enough happening and it dragged A whole lot of talking but not much action I would have loved about Maddison s academy training of her mysterious connection with water and definitely battles Instead I got way too much unnecessary filler that didn t advance the story dances shopping tripsvery meal described Even the conclusion which had a little action was rushed and underwhelming However my biggest complaint about this book is how completely shallow it was Seriously about half of it consisted of detailed descriptions of Alien Chastity Belt every single outfit worn byvery single character Faker every single day Over and over and over Hair make up shoes and a whole lot of Girl you look hot No girl you look hot I have a headache from all myye rolling Moving on 35 Stars This book was hard for me because I loved the characters and I loved the plot and the storyline but I didn t love the Lawbreakers Suspense Stories execution The writing felt a tad choppy and disjointed at times and it didn t flow as organically as I would have liked There were a few parts that I skimmed just to get back to somethingngaging and captivating It just felt like something was slightly missing like just barely out of reach Whatever that is would have catapulted this book to a greater level After reading the Supernatural Prison series book 1 Dragon Marked and the Curse of the Gods series book 1 Trickery and loving both I was super HIPPO IN THE GARDEN excited to see this book come out I droppedverything and bought it when it released Maybe my Spinal Trauma expectations were too high I don t know It just wasn tverything that I hoped for That being said this is a very promising lead in to the new series I thought the book was interesting and creative and as I mentioned before I really really love the characters main and secondary I will still recommend Supernatural Academy Year One to my urban fantasy loving friends and I look forward to book two and year of the purple Also for those who hate cliffhangers this book does resolve the major conflict from the story so it reads as complete though there will clearly be a continuation of the story as there is yet to come with Shadow (New Species, everything that has been happening You don t need to wait for the next book to come out before starting this one I would suggest grabbing it up now and meeting these awesome characters andxploring their world at the academyOh and final thought Shout out to whoever designed this cover It s gorgeous and totally fits the book I love that this in in the same world as the Supernatural Prison series I was unsure at first but it is which is really fun because we saw Louis I liked the academy a lot and that Maddi the MC had friends that were female aside from the guys I do feel like I have less of a sense of 細味人生100篇 each of them though in part due to the time skips present I liked Maddi and loved her hair pink is my favorite color so having her as the MC worked well for me It was cool to have a magic user MC as opposed to a shifter like Jessa the MC of the Supernatural Prison series The plot being based around Atlantis is very interesting and I mxcited to learn I wish there was detail about her classes and learning to use her powers later on Good first book of a new series 4 stars 35 starsLikeThe character are not teens All of them are 21The world is well builtIt s not a RH and i liked the. Ship himAsher drives her crazy because apparently snarly gorgeous and arrogant is her thing and despite their mutual dislike sparks fly between them The they’re thrown together the Asher is determined to figure out what’s been blocking her abilitiesUntil the moment the truth is revealed and they find out nothing in this supernatural world is what they thought.

Originally posted at My Rating 3 and a half starsAs always with this author I adore the world building She does a fantastic job at making this magical universe a realistic and believable one My one problem with The Gathering (Darkness Rising, everything is the overall pacing which I lllaborate on later in this reviewMaggi has had a crappy life so far at 22 years old and it just got so much weirder I like how sassy and stubborn she is She doesn t accept MongoDB everything right away but she doesn t turn into a hysterical messither Given time she adapts uite well to her new life Her relationship with Asher takes a long while to start but after that things take a turn with lots of impossible problems with no solutionsAsher and all his friends seemed like awesome guys I don t understand why they re so standoffish to most Chastity everyone in the schoolxcept the new girl and her friends but I can let that slide He seems to like and be intrigued by Maggi just as much as she is by him They seem like a great coupleI ve been unofficially taking a break from YA for a few months I ve been having the worst luck when it comes to picking out books in the YA section So I liked how this book took something that would usually be in the 15 17 age bracket and put it into a new adultadult form I can t say this Experiential Learning enough the world building is amazing The map at the beginning of the book was awesomeThe only problem I had with this book was the pacing of the story The first half was way too slow It took over 18 chapters for Maggi and Asher to have a full conversation The second half felt rushed for no apparent reason because some obscure things started connecting the dots out of thin air and then itnded If there was one thing this author would benefit in improving in future books it would be developing streamlined pacing for a bookseriesThe Die Neurobiologie des Glücks end wasn t what I wasxpecting it to be I was on the dge of my seat waiting for a lot of things to possibly happen but what actually happened wasn t it I m interested in what happens next and maybe ven getting a series of spin off books for Asher s group of supernaturalsMy Favorite uotes This year there would be light because I d had my damned share of darknessMusic moves A New Philosophy of History everyone in different ways and it s magicven humans can accessSorry I sometimes talk without thinking It s a problem I m not working on Maddison is plucked off the streets and carted off to Europe to the Supernatural Academy Evidently she s been putting off bursts of power of an unknown kind and they finally caught up to her Luckily the school is pretty cool and beats living on the streets Maddison learns all about the supernatural races including Atlanteans represented by 5 hunky popular guys but she is still unsure what type of supernatural she is Asher is the leader of the Atlanteans and Maddison feels an instant connection to him Could she be an Atlantean As she tries to unlock her power she attracts the attention of an outside group and must rely on Asher and his friends to keep her safe All in all I liked it I thought including Atlanteans in the supernatural races was a fun twist on the usual suspects witches shapeshifters and vampires Maddison is in line with other FMCs that Jaymin Eve has written she s likable and uirky she doesn t take crap from anyone which often gets her in trouble and she is Abortion, Choice, and Contemporary Fiction extremely loyal once she makes a friend I ll be looking for the next installment in the series I think it will be fun DNF this starts wi.
